باب في فَضْلِ الْعِلْمِ وَالْعَالِمِ:Chapter: The Virtue of Knowledge and the Scholar
Hadith 336
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، وَجَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: "تَعَلَّمُوا قَبْلَ أَنْ يُقْبَضَ الْعِلْمُ، فَإِنَّ قَبْضَ الْعِلْمِ قَبْضُ الْعُلَمَاءِ، وَإِنَّ الْعَالِمَ وَالْمُتَعَلِّمَ فِي الْأَجْرِ سَوَاءٌ".
Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Acquire knowledge before it is taken away, for indeed the taking away of knowledge is the disappearance (passing away) of the scholars. Surely, the scholar and the learner (student) are equal in reward.
