Hadith 3274

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: "الْكَفَنُ مِنْ وَسَطِ الْمَالِ، يكفن على قدر ما كان يلبس في حياته، ثم يخرج الدين، ثم الثلث".
Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The shroud will be provided from the (deceased's) wealth, and the shroud will be like what he used to wear in his lifetime. Then the debt will be paid, and after that, the bequest of one third of the wealth will be executed.

(Explanation of Ahadith 3270 to 3274)
The estate of the deceased will be distributed in the following order: first, arrangements for the shroud and burial; then, whatever remains from it will be used to pay off debts; after that, if there is any bequest (wasiyyah), it will be executed; then the wealth will be distributed among the heirs.
