باب في اجْتِنَابِ الأَهْوَاءِ:Chapter: Avoiding Desires and Innovations
Hadith 321
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، قَالَ: "كَفَى بِالْمَرْءِ عِلْمًا أَنْ يَخْشَى اللَّهَ، وَكَفَى بِالْمَرْءِ جَهْلًا أَنْ يُعْجَبَ بِعِلْمِهِ". .
Masruq (may Allah have mercy on him) said: It is sufficient for a man to be considered knowledgeable that he fears Allah, and it is sufficient for a man to be considered ignorant that he is arrogant about his knowledge.
