حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا، عَنْ عَامِرٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ: أَنَّهُمَا قَالَا: "وَلَاؤُهُ لِمَنْ بَدَأَ بِالْعِتْقِ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ".
Imam Amir Sha'bi and Ibrahim, may Allah have mercy on them, said: The right of inheritance will belong to the one who first initiated the emancipation.

This narration has been mentioned by Ibn Abi Shaybah and ‘Abd al-Razzaq in «باب العبد بين الرجلين», from which it becomes clear that if there is a slave shared between two owners and one of them sets him free, then the one who freed him first will be entitled to his inheritance.
