Ibrahim, may Allah have mercy on him, said: A newborn will not be considered an heir until he cries, and the funeral prayer will not be performed over him until he makes a sound. But when he makes a sound, then the prayer will be performed over him, he will be made an heir, and his full blood money (diyah) will be due. That is, if someone kills him, the full diyah will be given, just as it is given for a grown person.
