باب مِيرَاثِ السَّائِبَةِ:Chapter on inheritance of the freed slave
Hadith 3158
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ، قَالَ: "أَعْتَقَ رَجُلٌ غُلَامًا سَائِبَةً، فَأَتَى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ، وَقَالَ: إِنِّي أَعْتَقْتُ غُلَامًا لِي سَائِبَةً، وَهَذِهِ تَرِكَتُهُ، قَالَ: هِيَ لَكَ، قَالَ: لَا حَاجَةَ لِي فِيهَا، قَالَ: فَضَعْهَا، فَإِنَّ هَهُنَا وَارِثًا كَثِيرًا".
Qasim said: A man freed a slave as a Sa’ibah and came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: I have freed my slave as a Sa’ibah and this is his property (inheritance)? Sayyiduna Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This is for you (i.e., it is your right). He said: I have no need of it. He replied: Keep it, there are many heirs here.
