باب: الْوَلاَءُ لِلْكُبْرِ:Chapter: Wala' belongs to the eldest
Hadith 3057
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شِهَابٍ، عَنْ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ: أَنَّ عَلِيًّا، وَزَيْدًا قَالَا: "الْوَلَاءُ لِلْكُبْر" . وَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، وَشُرَيْحٌ: لِلْوَرَثَةِ.
It is narrated from Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Ali and Sayyiduna Zaid (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The right of wala' is for the eldest, and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and (Qadi) Shurayh said: It will be for the heirs.
