باب مَنْ قَالَ الْعِلْمُ الْخَشْيَةُ وَتَقْوَى اللَّهِ:Chapter: Knowledge is Fear of Allah and Piety
Hadith 299
أَخْبَرَنَا عِصْمَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ، عَنْ مُبَارَكِ بْنِ فَضَالَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْعُمَرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، قَالَ: "لَا تَكُونُ عَالِمًا حَتَّى يَكُونَ فِيكَ ثَلَاثُ خِصَالٍ: لَا تَبْغِي عَلَى مَنْ فَوْقَكَ، وَلَا تَحْقِرُ مَنْ دُونَكَ، وَلَا تَأْخُذُ عَلَى عِلْمِكَ دُنْيَا".
Abu Hazim said: You cannot become a scholar until three qualities are found in you: do not oppress those who are above you, do not consider those with less knowledge than you as insignificant, and do not sell your knowledge for worldly gain.
