Hadith 2982
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِت: "أَنَّهُ أُتِيَ فِي ابْنَةٍ، أَوْ أُخْت، فَأَعْطَاهَا النِّصْفَ، وَجَعَلَ مَا بَقِيَ فِي بَيْتِ الْمَالِ وقَالَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ: عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ خَارِجَةَ.
Kharijah bin Zaid said: A case regarding a daughter and a sister was brought to our master Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), so he gave half to the daughter, and deposited the remaining half in the treasury (Bayt al-Mal). And this narration has also been reported by Yazid bin Harun from Muhammad bin Salim, from Sha'bi, and from Kharijah (bin Zaid).
