حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ يُونُسَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل، قَالَ: قَالَ عَامِرٌ: "خُذْ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْجَدِّ مَا اجْتَمَعَ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ، قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: يَعْنِي قَوْلَ زَيْدٍ.
It is narrated from Ismail that 'Amir (al-Sha'bi) said: Act upon that regarding the grandfather on which the (scholars) of the people have consensus. Imam Darimi, may Allah have mercy on him, said: That is, adopt the statement of Sayyiduna Zaid, may Allah be pleased with him.
Brief Explanation

From all these traditions, the opinion of Sayyiduna Zayd ibn Thabit radi Allahu anhu is understood, that in the absence of the father, the grandfather has a share.
Although the shares of the grandfather, grandson, paternal uncle, and nephew are not explicitly mentioned in the Noble Qur’an, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has determined their shares under «أَلْحِقُوْا الْفَرَائِضَ بِأَهْلِهَا ، فَمَا بَقِيَ فَهُوَ لِأَوْلَى رَجُلٍ ذَكَرٍ» [صحيح مسلم 4141].
