باب في زَوْجٍ وَأَبَوَيْنِ وَامْرَأَةٍ وَأَبَوَيْنِ:Chapter on a husband, two parents, a wife, and two parents
Hadith 2902
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: "لِلْمَرْأَةِ الرُّبُعُ سَهْمٌ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ، وَلِلْأُمِّ ثُلُثُ مَا بَقِيَ سَهْم، وَلِلأَبِّ سَهْمَانِ".
Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The wife's share will be a quarter out of four, and for the mother, a third (one third) of what remains out of four, and the father's share will be two parts (i.e., two thirds).
