باب في وَلَدِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ:Chapter on the children of the people of Paradise
Hadith 2868

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، وَالْقَوَارِيرِيُّ , عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ النَّاجِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: "إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ إِذَا اشْتَهَى الْوَلَدَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ، كَانَ حَمْلُهُ وَوَضْعُهُ وَسِنُّهُ فِي سَاعَةٍ كَمَا اشْتَهَى".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When a believer will desire to have children in Paradise, then her conception, delivery, and growing up (i.e., age) will all happen in a single moment according to his wish."
Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2867)
Some scholars have said: In Paradise, there will not even be a desire for children, therefore there will be no children. However, in this hadith it is stated that if one desires, then there will also be children, but all these stages will occur in the blink of an eye. It is also mentioned in the Noble Qur’an: « ﴿وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِي أَنْفُسُكُمْ وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَ﴾ [فصلت : 31]» meaning, whatever your soul desires and whatever you ask for, all will be present in Paradise.
Similarly, it is stated: «﴿وَفِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِيهِ الْأَنْفُسُ وَتَلَذُّ الْأَعْيُنُ .....﴾ [الزخرف : 71]» meaning, whatever the believers desire and whatever delights the eyes, all will be present in Paradise.
From these verses and hadiths, it is established that intercourse (jima‘) and its pleasures will all be present, whatever the believing servant desires there, and the strength and power for intercourse will be increased a hundredfold.
«وذلك فضل اللّٰه.»
