باب في شِدَّةِ عَذَابِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ:Chapter on the severity of the punishment of the people of Hell
Hadith 2850
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مِقْلَاصٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، وَكُنْيَتُهُ: أَبُو يَحْيَى، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ دَرَّاجًا: أَبَا السَّمْحِ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْهَيْثَمِ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ: رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "لَيُسَلَّطُ عَلَى الْكَافِرِ فِي قَبْرِهِ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ تِنِّينًا تَنْهَشُهُ وَتَلْدَغُهُ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ، وَلَوْ أَنَّ تِنِّينًا مِنْهَا نَفَخَ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَا نَبَتَتْ خَضْرَاءُ".
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Ninety-nine serpents will be set upon the disbeliever in his grave, which will bite and sting him until the Day of Resurrection. If even one of those serpents were to hiss upon the earth, nothing would ever grow from it again.”
