Hadith 2817

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not enter upon those women whose husbands are absent, for indeed Satan flows (among you)." At times the narrator said: "Because Satan flows in a person just as blood flows (in the body)." The Companions asked: And in your body as well? He replied: "Yes, in my body as well, but Allah Almighty has helped me against him, so he has become obedient."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2816)

«فَأَسْلَمُ» and «فَأُسْلَم» are narrated in two ways, that is, "he has become obedient" or "I am safe from him."

In the first aspect of this hadith, it is prohibited to go alone to non-mahram women, to be in seclusion (khalwah) with them, or to sit with them in private, as is mentioned in some other authentic narrations: «إِيَّاكُمْ وَالدُّخُوْلَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ» [بخاري 5232], [مسلم 2172], as well as «لَا يَخْلُوَنَّ رَجُلٌ بِامْرَأَةٍ» [بخاري 5233], [مسلم 1341], and in the hadith of Sayyidah Safiyyah radi Allahu anha, there is mention of Satan running through the veins like blood; see [بخاري 2038], [مسلم 2175]. In all these narrations, there is an order to keep away from non-mahram women.

There is a hadith: Whenever a non-mahram man meets a non-mahram woman in seclusion, Satan is the third among them, meaning he exerts his utmost effort to involve them in temptation and corruption, and from this, many tribulations arise in society.

May Allah Most High protect everyone from Satan and the snares of Satan, ameen.
