أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي السَّفَرِ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ، قَالَ: "جَالَسْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ سَنَةً، فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ يَذْكُرُ حَدِيثًا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ".
Imam Sha’bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I sat with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) for a year, but I did not hear him mention any hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
