Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2793) That is, just as the index finger and the middle finger are close to each other, so too is the Day of Judgment that near. The meaning of this is that between me and the Day of Judgment, there is no interval of a new prophet or messenger, just like there is no gap between these two fingers, and my ummah is the last ummah; upon it the Day of Judgment will be established. Furthermore, it indicates that the Day of Judgment is near and its appointed time is short. (Maulana Raaz rahimahullah).
