Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "None of you should ever wish for death; if he is righteous, it is possible that he may do more good deeds, and if he is sinful, it is possible that he may repent."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2792)
From this hadith, the prohibition of supplicating for or desiring death is established. Imam Nawawi rahimahullah said: If there is a calamity in religion, or fear of falling into tribulation (fitnah), then desiring death is permissible, and due to fear of corruption in religion, some of the Salaf did so. However, the best is to be patient and remain content with the decree of Allah.
Be content with every decree, and see the delight, While sitting in this world, witness the atmosphere of Paradise.
It is mentioned in the hadith: If one must ask for death, then he should say: O Allah! If life is better for me, then keep me alive, and if death is better for me, then grant me death.
Some people, upon facing a little distress or hardship, or out of anger, say: It would be better if Allah gave me death.
This is not correct to say.
And Allah knows best.
Now, out of anxiety, they say: We will die, If even after dying, we do not find peace, then where will we go?
