أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْحُبَابِ: سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ: أَيْنَ الْمُتَحَابُّونَ بِجَلَالِ ؟ الْيَوْمَ أُظِلُّهُمْ فِي ظِلِّي يَوْمَ لَا ظِلَّ إِلَّا ظِلِّي".
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty will say on the Day of Resurrection: Where are those who loved one another for My greatness and majesty? Today, I will shade them in My shade, on the day when there is no shade except My shade."
Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2791)
To love for the sake of Allah means that the love is for the obedience to Allah Jalla Jalaluhu and for seeking His pleasure, such as loving the pious, loving the God-fearing and abstinent, loving the scholars, etc. The virtue of mutual love among each other and its immense reward is established.
