Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: “O Aisha! Guard yourself against even the smallest of sins, for Allah Almighty will call to account regarding them.”
(Commentary on Hadith 2760) In this hadith, through Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha, there is a lesson for the entire Ummah that a person should safeguard himself from all types of sins, whether minor or major. On the Day of Judgment, when a person sees every small and big, good and bad deed recorded in his book of deeds, he will cry out: «﴿مَالِهَذَاالْكِتَابِلَايُغَادِرُصَغِيرَةًوَلَاكَبِيرَةًإِلَّاأَحْصَاهَاوَوَجَدُوامَاعَمِلُواحَاضِرًاوَلَايَظْلِمُرَبُّكَأَحَدًا﴾ [الكهف : 49]» "Alas! What kind of record (book) is this that has left nothing, small or big, but has recorded it; and they will find whatever they did present before them, and your Lord does not wrong anyone."
