Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) affirmed the verses of Umayyah bin Abi al-Salt in which he said:
"Saturn and Taurus are under his right foot, and the Vulture is under his left foot, and the Lion star is under his supervision."
The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He spoke the truth (i.e., all these planets are beneath Allah the Exalted, and the Exalted Lord is above all, established over the Throne)," then he said:
"And the sun rises at the end of every night, so its color is red and rosy (i.e., due to its greatness and majesty)."
He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He also spoke the truth." (It is mentioned in the hadith that the sun prostrates to Allah every morning and seeks permission to rise, then it rises until the Day of Resurrection when Allah will not grant permission, and it will be commanded to rise from where it set....
Then someone said:
"The sun refuses to rise by itself except that it be seized by punishment, and shackles be placed upon it."
The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He spoke the truth."
