Hadith 2682

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him): Any woman who applies perfume and goes out so that people may smell her fragrance, she is an adulteress, and every eye is an adulterer.

Abu Asim said: Some of our elders have narrated this as a marfu' (attributed to the Prophet) narration.

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2681)

It is forbidden (haram) for a woman to go out after applying fragrance.
Whether it is perfume, scent, or any other fragrance, in fact, it is mentioned in Nasa’i Sharif (5130) that if a woman applies fragrance and intends to come to the mosque, then she should perform a ritual bath (ghusl) just like the ritual bath for major impurity (ghusl al-janabah). And for such a woman, a severe warning of humiliation and sin has been given, stating that she is like an adulteress (zaniyah) woman.
Therefore, women should avoid going out of the house after applying scent, perfume, etc.
