Hadith 2658

أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ: أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "حَجَمَهُ أَبُو طَيْبَةَ وَأَمَرَ لَهُ بِصَاعَيْنِ مِنْ طَعَامٍ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that Abu Taybah (Nafi’ or Maisarah) performed cupping for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he ordered that he be given two sa’ of grain as payment.
Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2657)
From this hadith, the permissibility of cupping (hijama) and giving a wage for it is established.
Cupping (hijama) is a means of relief from many illnesses.
It is mentioned in [بخاري شريف 5696] that the best treatment for high blood pressure is cupping.
And the best treatment for headache and migraine is also cupping.
[بخاري : 5700].
