حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُحَارِبٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "وَزَنَ لَهُمْ دَرَاهِمَ فَأَرْجَحَهَا".
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) repaid his debt and gave him more.

From this hadith, it is understood that if the debtor, of his own accord and without any condition, gives more (than what was borrowed), then there is no objection in accepting it. And to repay a loan in a good manner means that he should return good (quality) wealth, or give something extra as well, and also express gratitude to the creditor.
