Hadith 2611

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, supplicated: "O Allah! Bless their measures, bless their Sa‘ and their Mudd." By this, he (peace and blessings be upon him) meant the people of Madinah.

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2610)

Sa’ (صاع) and mudd (مد) are measures for weighing grain and cereals, which are still well-known and famous in Saudi Arabia today. The purpose of this supplication was that Allah Ta’ala would bless the trade of the people of Madinah and grant them prosperity. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam made several other supplications for Madinah and its people, which were accepted. Today, Madinah Munawwarah, just like Makkah Mukarramah, stands as a source of Islam and an example of goodness and blessing. May Allah Ta’ala always keep the two sacred sanctuaries (Haramayn Sharifayn) established and everlasting, continue to send down His blessings and mercy here, and may there always be peace and security here, keeping everyone safe and protected. Ameen.
