Hadith 2577

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a heap of grain in the market of Madinah. He liked it, so he put his hand into it and found something inside that was not apparent on the surface (of the heap). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) expressed disapproval and then said to the grain seller: "There is no deception among Muslims. Whoever deceives us is not from us."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2576)
By «لَيْسَ مِنَّا» is meant that the Muslim who practices deceit, who deceives Muslims, is not upon our way or path.
Some people have said: he is not a Muslim, meaning that if he deceives, he has exited the fold of Islam.
This is a very severe warning; from this, the condemnation of treachery, deceit, and fraud is established, and there is both encouragement and warning to avoid it. Therefore, one should avoid deceit in buying and selling.
