Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: On the day of the conquest of Makkah, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "After this conquest, there is no migration (from Makkah), but (good) intention and jihad still remain. Therefore, when you are called for jihad, then set out."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2547)
The process of migration (hijrah) during the era of the Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) ended with the conquest of Makkah, because Makkah al-Mukarramah had now become a land of Islam (dar al-Islam) and Muslims were granted the blessing of residing there with freedom. However, this ruling remains in effect until the Day of Judgment: in any era, whenever necessary, Muslims may migrate from a land of war (dar al-harb) to a land of Islam (dar al-Islam). Therefore, it is stated that maintaining sincerity of intention (husn al-niyyah) for the preservation of one’s religion and faith remains incumbent at all times, in every place, and in every era. Along with this, the institution of jihad also remains until the Day of Judgment. Whenever and wherever there is a confrontation between disbelief and Islam, and the leader of jihad makes an announcement, it becomes obligatory (fard) upon every Muslim to respond to his call. When Makkah al-Mukarramah was conquered, for a short period, Allah Ta’ala granted permission for defensive fighting, which was necessary for the establishment of peace there. Soon after, that permission was revoked, and now fighting in the sacred precincts of Makkah is prohibited forever.
Makkah is, for all time, a sanctuary (dar al-aman).
It will remain in this status until the Day of Judgment.
