It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah in the year of the conquest of Makkah, there was a helmet on his blessed head. When he (peace be upon him) was taking it off, a companion (Sayyiduna Abu Barzah Aslami, may Allah be pleased with him) came to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! This is Ibn Khatal who is hanging onto the curtains of the Ka'bah." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Kill him."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2492)
This Ibn Khatal, whose name was Abdullah, was an enemy of Islam and the Muslims. He became an apostate and fled, killed a companion, and joined the disbelievers. He used to satirize the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), the pure wives (azwaj mutahharat), and the Muslims, and would consort with prostitutes and have them sing for him.
From this hadith, it is understood that such a grave criminal, even if he seeks refuge in the Ka'bah, should be killed.
"Khud" is an iron helmet that was used in war to protect the head, and over it, an iron coat called "zirah" (mail) was used in battle to protect the rest of the body.
