Hadith 2451

Sayyiduna Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fighting in the way of Allah is martyrdom, plague is martyrdom, abdominal (disease) is martyrdom, and if a pregnant woman dies because of her fetus, that is martyrdom."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2450)
Imam Nawawi rahimahullah said: Besides these, there are also other people mentioned in different hadiths—such as those who die from pleurisy (dhat al-janb), women who die due to complications of childbirth, men who are killed while protecting and defending their wealth, and those who are killed while defending their wives and children.

And what is meant by “martyrdom” (shahadah) here is that in the Hereafter, they will receive the reward similar to that of martyrs, but the legal rulings of martyrs will not apply to them. They will be given ritual washing (ghusl) and their funeral prayer (salat al-janazah) will be performed. Only those who are martyred while fighting in the path of Allah will not be given ritual washing.
