Hadith 2439

Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A companion came forward with a she-camel with a nose-string and submitted, “This is (a gift) in the way of Allah.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “For you, on the Day of Resurrection, there will be seven hundred she-camels in exchange for this one, all of them with nose-strings.”

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Ahadith 2437 to 2439)

Subhan Allah! What majesty and mercy of Allah it is, that in exchange for one, seven hundred camels are given. In the Noble Qur’an, it is similarly stated that the example of one is given as seven hundred: «﴿مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ يُنْفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّٰهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ أَنْبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ فِي كُلِّ سُنْبُلَةٍ مِائَةُ حَبَّةٍ﴾ [البقرة : 261]» Meaning, those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, their example is like that grain from which seven ears sprout, and in every ear there are a hundred grains.

Just as one grain becomes seven hundred grains, likewise Allah Ta’ala will grant up to seven hundred in exchange for one.
