باب أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَفْضَلُ:Chapter: Which Jihad Is Best
Hadith 2429
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ . قَالَ: "مَنْ عُقِرَ جَوَادُهُ وَأُهْرِيقَ دَمُهُ".
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It was asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Which is the most virtuous jihad?" He replied: "The most virtuous jihad is that in which the warrior's horse is killed and his blood is shed," (that is, the jihad in which the warrior sacrifices his life and wealth, everything, in the way of Allah and is martyred).
