يَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا
زَكَرِيَّا، عَنْ
عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُطِيعٍ، سَمِعْتُ
مُطِيعًا، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . . . . . . . . فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ . قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: فَسَّرُوا ذَلِكَ: أَنْ لَا يُقْتَلَ قُرَشِيٌّ عَلَى الْكُفْرِ يَعْنِي: لَا يَكُونُ هَذَا أَنْ يَكْفُرَ قُرَشِيٌّ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ فَأَمَّا فِي الْقَوَدِ، فَيُقْتَلُ.
It is narrated similarly from Sayyiduna Muti’ (may Allah be pleased with him); the translation is the same as mentioned above.
Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: In the explanation of the above-mentioned hadith, the scholars have said that its meaning is that all the Quraysh will become Muslims and none of them will die upon disbelief, that is, from today onwards no Qurayshi will remain a disbeliever, and if he commits a crime, he will be killed.
