باب الاِسْتِثْنَاءِ في الْيَمِينِ:Chapter: Exception in Oaths
Hadith 2379
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ: "مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ، فَقَدِ اسْتَثْنَى".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever swears an oath and then says 'InshaAllah' (if Allah wills), then he has made an exception." (That is, if he does not fulfill the oath, expiation will not be obligatory or required upon him.)
