Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon before us and said: “May Allah keep fresh the person who hears a hadith from us and conveys it exactly as he heard it (to others), because sometimes the one to whom the hadith is conveyed remembers it better than the one who heard it. There are three things regarding which the heart of a Muslim does not betray: making deeds sincere for Allah, wishing well for every Muslim, and adhering to the community of Muslims, for their prayers encompass them from behind.”

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadiths 233 to 236) In all these hadiths, there is glad tidings for those who seek knowledge that their faces will remain fresh and radiant in this world and the Hereafter, and this is indeed a reality—we have seen so many such scholars and hadith transmitters whose luminous faces shone with the blessing of knowledge and gnosis «(جعلنا اللّٰه منهم)». Furthermore, in these hadiths, there is a categorization of students of knowledge, among whom certainly some are mujtahid (jurists capable of independent reasoning) and intelligent, while some are less understanding.
These hadiths also encourage sincerity and devotion to Allah, exhortation and advice, as well as unity and harmony, and they emphasize avoiding discord and division.
