Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best among you is the one who is best to his family, and when any of you dies, then leave him alone."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2296)

That is, do not mention her with bad words, nor speak ill of her. In Tirmidhi Sharif, there is this addition: "And I am the best in conduct towards my family among you."
From this hadith, it is understood that treating one's family and dependents well is itself a sign of a person's goodness.
Who could be more pious and God-fearing than the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), who was the best to his family?
The reality and actual matter is that when such an environment of good conduct prevails in the home, that household will be blessed with worldly happiness, bounties, and blessings.
In this hadith, it is also prohibited to speak ill of people who have passed away.
