Hadith 2272

Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates in a marfu‘ form that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The child belongs to the (owner of the) bed on which it is born, and for the adulterer is the stone.”

Brief Explanation
Refers to a woman with whom the husband has had intercourse and intimacy, whether she is a wife or a slave woman, and here "firaash" (bed) refers to her owner or master.

(«العاهر») Meaning the adulterer, and («للحجر») meaning "stone-thrown" (i.e., one who is stoned), that is, for him there is nothing except failure and disappointment, humiliation and disgrace.

One opinion is that for the adulterer there is stoning, meaning he will be executed by stoning (rajm).

And Allah knows best.
