Hadith 2194

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْكِينٌ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بُرْقَانَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ، عَنْ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، فَقَالَ: رَأَيْتُ فِي الْمَنَامِ كَأَنَّ شَمْسًا أَوْ قَمَرًا شَكَّ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ تُرْفَعُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ بِأَشْطَانٍ شِدَادٍ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: "ذَاكَ وَفَاةُ ابْنُ أَخِيكَ يَعْنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَفْسَهُ".
Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw in a dream that a sun or a moon was being lifted from the earth and taken to the sky. He related this dream to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so he (peace be upon him) interpreted it that it referred to the death of his nephew, meaning the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) himself.
Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2193)
That is, you (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) will pass away.
From this it is understood that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) neither disappeared from the world nor was he raised up to the heavens, rather, like other prophets, he (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) also passed away.
From this it is understood that ascending towards the heavens or someone being taken up is an indication towards his death.
That is, you (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) will pass away.
