Hadith 2184

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not relate a dream except to a scholar or a well-wisher."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2183)

From this hadith, it is understood that one should not relate one’s dream to an ignorant, foolish, naive, or hostile person.

It is mentioned in [ترمذي 2280] that a person’s dream is like a bird as long as its interpretation has not been sought, and when someone relates this dream, then whatever interpretation is given, it comes to pass accordingly.

From this, it is understood that as long as the dream is not related, it does not come to pass, as will be mentioned ahead.
