Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2173)
In this hadith, there is an indication of the truthfulness of a believer’s dream. Those who consider dreams to be mere illusions and conjectures, in effect, deny this hadith. The dreams of the prophets were true. The reality of dreams and the mention of some dreams are also present in the Noble Qur’an. The knowledge of these forty-six parts is with Allah alone; it is possible that Allah, the Exalted, informed His Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) about them. There are different narrations regarding the number of these parts, and by them, the virtue of good dreams is intended.
