Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2171)
It is among the Islamic etiquettes that whoever serves milk, tea, sherbet, or water—whatever the drink may be—the requirement of etiquette is that if there is a need to drink, he himself should drink last of all. This ruling is not obligatory; it is a directive given out of etiquette. And Allah knows best.
