Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not prepare nabidh (fermented drink) in dabba’ or muzaffat."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2146)
«دُبَاء» refers to the gourd, and «مُزَفَّت» is a vessel made of resinous oil.
In this, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) initially forbade making nabidh (fermented drink) in them.
In the narration of Bukhari, «حَنْتَم» refers to a clay or lacquered jar, and «نَقِيْر» refers to a vessel made of wood.
Later, this prohibition was lifted because faith had become firmly established in the hearts of the people, and they would not even touch intoxicating drinks (radi Allahu anhum wa ardahum).
