Hadith 2139

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever sells wine should also clean the flesh of swine.” Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: ‘Amr bin Bayan al-Taghlibi: He is ‘Amr bin Bayan.

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Ahadith 2137 to 2139)

That is, when he considered selling wine to be permissible, he also regarded eating swine to be permissible, because both wine and swine are equal in prohibition.

The meaning of the hadith is that whoever sold wine, it is as if he engaged in the buying and selling of swine.

This is a severe warning, from which it is understood that buying or selling wine is just as forbidden as buying and selling swine.
