Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: My close friend (the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him) advised me, saying: "When you cook a stew, add more broth to it, then give some of it to your neighbors."

Our Shari‘ah has greatly emphasized the rights of the neighbor. There is a hadith: Jibril (alayhis salam) continued to enjoin good treatment towards the neighbor upon me so much that I thought he would make the neighbor an heir as well.
The aforementioned hadith also reflects good conduct towards the neighbor, that if nothing else can be done, then at least increase the water in the stew and share your food with your poor neighbors.
But unfortunately, nowadays neighbors living in the same building or on the same floor do not even know each other.
A good neighbor is a great blessing; that is why it is said in Arabic: «الجار قبل الدار» Before buying a house, look at the neighbor.
