It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a fly falls into the vessel of any one of you, then immerse the whole fly in the vessel, for in one of its wings is disease and in the other is cure." Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Except for Hammad (bin Salamah), the narrators have reported this from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) through Thumamah, while other narrators have reported it from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) through Qaqa'. And the first hadith which is narrated from Ubaid bin Hunaid is the most authentic of all.

Brief Explanation
(Explanation of Hadiths 2076 to 2078)
From the aforementioned two hadiths, it is understood that bloodless insects, if they fall into food or drink, do not render it impure; one may remove a fly or mosquito and then eat or drink.
It is narrated in Abu Dawud that when a fly falls, it falls on that wing or side which contains the disease, so you should immerse the entire fly in it.
Allah, the Exalted, has created many such things in abundance, the proliferation of which is astonishing to observe; all such things are harmful to human health.
There is another aspect of benefit in them as well, and among them is the fly.
The noble statement of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is absolutely true and based on veracity, for he is the most truthful, the one who is believed. In this, a treatment by means of the opposite (ilaj bil-did) has been prescribed to repel the harm of the fly. In the current science of medicine (tibb), treatment by means of the opposite is accepted as correct.
Thus, there is no alternative but to say as «صَدَقَرَسُوْلُاللّٰهِصَلَّياللّٰهُعَلَيْهِوَسَلَّمَ» has said.
