Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the lizard, so he (peace be upon him) said: "I neither eat it nor declare it unlawful."

Brief Explanation
(Explanation of Hadith 2053)

The ḍabb is a well-known wild animal found in the desert and is very powerful; it is also called sāndā, sāhna, sūsumāṛ, etc. The Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) had never eaten it before, so his heart was averse to it, but despite his natural inclination and dislike, he (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) did not prohibit its consumption. Therefore, eating it is permissible and lawful (halal).

There is a narration: The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said, “In my land, it is not eaten, so I feel aversion to it.”
