أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: "إِيَّاكَ وَالْمُكَايَلَةَ"، يَعْنِي: فِي الْكَلَامِ.
It is narrated from Mujahid that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Beware! Refrain from analogy and philosophical speech in words and actions.
