باب السُّنَّةِ في الْعَقِيقَةِ:Chapter: Sunnah of ‘Aqiqah (Newborn Sacrifice)
Hadith 2006
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الضَّبِّيِّ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "مَعَ الْغُلَامِ عَقِيقَةٌ، فَأَهْرِيقُوا عَنْهُ الدَّمَ، وَأَمِيطُوا عَنْهُ الْأَذَى".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman bin Amir Ad-Dabbi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A child is pledged with his 'Aqiqah, so sacrifice an animal on his behalf, and remove the filth from him." (That is, shave his head, perform circumcision, and give him a bath.)
