أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: "نَحَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَقَرَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ" . قِيلَ لِأَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ: تَقُولُ بِهِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ.
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We offered the sacrifice of a cow on behalf of seven people along with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: Do you say the same? He replied: Yes.

These ahadith establish that up to seven people can participate in the sacrifice of a cow; the same ruling applies to a camel. In some narrations, it is mentioned that up to ten people can participate in the sacrifice of a camel.
