Hadith 196

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ شَوْذَبٍ، عَنْ مَطَرٍ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ أَنَّهُ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ: خَلَقْتَنِي مِنْ نَارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِنْ طِينٍ سورة الأعراف آية 12 قَالَ: "قَاسَ إِبْلِيسُ وَهُوَ أَوَّلُ مَنْ قَاسَ".
It is narrated from Matar (al-Warraq) that Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) recited this noble verse: «﴿خَلَقْتَنِي مِنْ نَارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِنْ طِينٍ﴾» [الأعراف: 12/7] and said, "Iblis made analogy (qiyas), and he was the first to make analogy."
Brief Explanation

Iblis made this analogy (qiyas) according to the noble verse, that: O Lord! You created me from fire and You created him (Adam alayhis salam) from clay.
