With this chain also, there is a narration from Sayyiduna Najiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) as mentioned previously. The translation is mentioned above.

From this hadith, it is understood that if the hady (animal for sacrifice) is about to perish, then it should be slaughtered, and as a sign, its sandals should be dipped in its blood and placed upon it so that passersby may recognize that this is a hady animal and may cook and eat it. However, it is not permissible for the owner of the hady to eat from it; the owner of the hady may only eat from it after the sacrifice has been performed.
The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam hung the sandals of his hady as a sign so that it would be known that this animal is for sacrifice, as will be mentioned.
