It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "When we enter into the state of Ihram, which clothes should we wear?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not wear a shirt, trousers, turban, cap, or socks. However, if someone does not have shoes, he may wear socks, but he should cut them below the ankles. And do not wear any garment that has been touched with saffron or wars (a kind of dye)."
